N.G.O.'s in India:
Goonji has brought Recycling to a whole new level, with their distribution of used clothing to a vast majority of under-privileged Indians. Few organizations have addressed the lack of clothing in rural areas, and the number of fatalities related to unsanitary clothing have amounted to many. Thankfully, this N.G.O. has been extremely helpful in collecting, processing and delivering clean clothing to those in need of them. Rather than collecting money to help people, Goonj.. believes in collecting clothes directly because discarded clothes, found abundantly in urban areas, are very valuable to those in the villages. Goonji opens up fundraising opportunities and chances for others waste to be put to good use.
Founded 25 years ago, Goonji has left their mark on India. So much so, that In 2008, Goonji won the Indian N.G.O. of the year award. This is left a long lasting impact on the well being of most Indians and has surely shown that other world powers can help others in need. Specifically this unique assistance, the recycling of clothes, can help out immensely. Also it can be used to help inform/educate many about the dilemma, which most people take for granted-clothes. We see these commodities as such everyday necessities, where as most have no way to access what we can't live a single day without. Some even complain about "out of style clothing", when in fact that's the last thing on some of these Indian's minds.

Similar POP CULTURE:
If a popular TV show would be duplicated is would done by India. Other than Hollywood, Bollywood produces the largest amount of movies and tv shows. The American version, American Idol, is watched many for a long time and it is said that Indian Idol sought to attract the same vast amount of viewings and decided to start making their very own. From this we can see that their expanding Pop Culture in India is due to America's thriving television shows and actors. Whether or not they create a more entertaining show is ultimately up to them.
